Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat continues tonight and runs through Sunday.  The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice favorite has become a holiday tradition for Central Illinois. Performances are at 7:30 pm except for Sunday's performance, which is at 2 pm. The Empowering Embers: The Original Work of Jean Filson Exhibit is open for viewing at the Venue Art Gallery in Washington, IL from now until December 31st.  The gallery is open Wednesdays & Thursdays from 4-8 pm, Fridays from 4-10 pm and Saturdays from  12-5 pm.  Admission is free.

Corn Stock for Kids' Willy Wonka Jr, the classic story of a poor boy who finds a golden ticket in his chocolate bar to possibly take over the chocolate factory owned by the famous Willy Wonka, continues Friday & Saturday at the Theatre Center beginning at 7:30 pm. This weekend at the Forest Park Nature Center's Holiday Shop & Stroll, experience an evening stroll on a forest path lit with luminaries, holiday musicians, storytelling, caroling, hot wassail and homemade goodies, view the artwork in the Nature Art Show and Sale and shop for nature-related and eco-friendly items in the Trailhead Nature Store. For all ages. The stroll runs Friday & Saturdag night from 6 pm - 8:30 pm and a $2 per person donation is suggested.

The IESA Cheer Championship will be held in the Civic Center Exhibit Hall Saturday beginning at 9 am. The small and large Team Cheer divisions will be held in the morning, and the small, medium and large Team Routine Divisions will be held in the afternoon. Christmas on the Ghost Front takes place from 10 am - 4 pm Saturday at Sommer Park.  Come join World War II veterans, historians and re-enactors as the days leading up to the Battle of the Bulge are recreated at the Pioneer Homestead. Demonstrations will include soldier life, military vehicles, POW interrogation and a first aid station.  Admission is $5 per vehicle.

The holiday favorite, the Sing-it-Yourself Messiah, will be held by St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral Sunday at 2:30 pm. Featuring Edward Corpus, bass, Edwin Griffith, tenor, Shriley Salazar, soprano and Ann Cravero, mezzo-soprano, there is no admission charge to attend. There will be a free-will offering to help pay for expenses. Copies of the verses are available for a small fee and a reception will follow the concert.
