The 2008 Annual Yule Walk, sponsored by the Opera Illinois League, will take place from 10 am - 9 pm today.  The walk features five spectacular homes in Peoria from the following neighborhoods: Randolph-Roanoke Historic District, Knollaire, Wyndhill Estates and The Knolls. A ride to the homes on a Peoria Charter Coach bus for only $7 leaving from the Opera Boutique in the Metro Centre at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm. Seating is limited, so please reserve your seat by calling 685-6669.

The Peoria Lunaire New Music Ensemble will be performing tonight at 7:30 pm at Dingeldine Music Center.  Admission is free.  On Sunday, the Bradley Symphonic Winds & Symphonic Band will perform at 3 pm also at Dingeldine Music Center.  Admission is $5 for the general public and free for students.At 7:30 pm on Sunday, Jeffrey Rice will perform a student Recital for voice.  Admission for this event is free.  For more information on all music events at  Dingeldine Music Center, call 677-2595.

Also tonight, Lakeview Museum will host lecturer/FBI agent Robert K. Wittman at 7 pm.  Wittman will present "Tales from the FBI's Real Indiana Jones."  Tickets for presentation and a dessert reception is $15 for Peoria Area World Affairs Council members and $20 for non-members. Forever Plaid continues this weekend at Peoria Players Theatre. The critically acclaimed show is an affectionate revue of the close-harmony "guy groups" (The Four Aces, The Four Freshmen) that reached the height of their popularity during the 1950s.  Performances run through Sunday with all shows beginning at 7:30 pm except the Sunday matinee, which begins at 2:30 pm. Violence begets violence in this original adaptation of The Oresteia by Bradley students. In the cursed House of Atreus, the world spirals ever deeper into chaos as the great hero Agamemnon is murdered by his unfaithful wife on his return from the Trojan War - and the sins of the family pass on to the son. Justice, sexual politics, violence, and the indomitable strength of the human spirit to rise above terror resonate throughout Aeschylus' masterpiece: the first dramatic exclamation for justice and human rights. Ticket prices are $17 for the General Public, $14 for Faculty/Staff/Seniors and $9 Students. Reel to Real Focus on Film presents "My Architect" at 7 pm on the ICC North Campus in the second floor auditorium of Arbor Hall. Nominated for an Oscar, another six international wins and three nominations, the secret life of architectural genius Louis Kahn is featured in this documentary created by his son. Director Nathaniel Kahn travels the world to understand his father: he visits his buildings and haunts, meets his father's contemporaries, colleagues, students, wives, and children. A moderated discussion and social hour with refreshments follow the film. J.J. Hawk (blues, rock) performs at the Contemporary Art Center 's Live at the Five Spot Friday night from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $7 for members and $10 for non-members.  On Saturday night, the CAC hosts their Salsa Night from 7 - 11 pm, which includes Latin dance lessons followed by an open dance session.  Admission is $2 for members and $5 non-members.  On Sunday is the Aesthetic Underground Open Mic featuring poetry, prose, plays and acoustic music.  Admission is free; however, donations are welcome. Doubt opens Friday at the Corn Stock Lab Theatre.  In this brilliant and powerful winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with a male student.  Performances are November 14-15 & 20 - 22 at 7:30 pm and November 16 at 2:30 pm and will be held at the Corn Stock Theatre Center in Bradley Park. There will be an opening reception at the Prairie Center of the Arts on Friday beginning at 6 pm for their current artists in residence: Julia Cocuzza, Brooklyn, NY, painter; Jennifer Van Winkle, Charlottesville, VA, installation artist; Morgan Elser, Delavan, IL, sculptor; and Andrea Erneset, Peoria, IL, sculptor. Family Yogais this Saturday at Heading OM Yoga. Adult & child ages 12 months to 2 years class is from 12 -1 pm, adult & child ages 3 to 6  is from 1:30-2:30 pm and adult & child ages 7 and up is from 3 - 4 pm.  Family yoga is designed to heighten the connection working as partners, explore yogic breath, movement, posture, team work, communication, stress release, and self awareness.  The fee of $15 per parent & child (plus $5 each additional child) includes an organic snack at the end of class.  Pre-registration is required:  call 231-YOGA to register.

On Saturday, history comes to life at Sommer Park as Civil War soldiers construct winter quarters and prepare for their winter encampment from 10 am - 5 pm. Living Historians in authentic uniforms will use period tools and construction methods to build handmade wooden shelters to protect themselves from the approaching winter weather. Activities will also include mail call, drill and ceremonies, and daily camp life.  Admission is $5 per vehicle.

The Rock Laser Show continues this weekend at the Lakeview Museum Planetarium: the afternoon show on Saturday and Sunday features Laser Beatles at 3 pm and Laser Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon at 4 pm.  The evening shows on Saturdays only feature Laser Zepplin at 7:30 pm, Laser Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon at 8:30 pm, and Laser Floyd: The Wall at 9:30 pm.  Admission is $5 for afternoon shows and $8 for evening shows with a half price discount for all Lakeview members.  For more information, call 686-7000 or click HERE.

The Songs from the Woods Concert will take place Saturday at Forrest Park Nature Center at 7 pm. The woods will ring with music at the monthly concert series featuring some of the best singer-songwriters and folk musicians to be found anywhere. This month features Kat, who has been dubbed a modern day Carole King.  Concert fees are $7 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under.
