Cash on Delivery continues this weekend at the Barn II Dinner Theatre.  On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sundays, doors and the buffet open at noon, and the show is at 1:30 pm. Prices are $30 for Thursdays, $32 for Fridays and Sunday brunch and $34 for Saturdays. The Arts in Education Spring Celebration 2009 continues weekdays through May 22 from 11 am - 1:30 pm. Performances are on three stages at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza: the Circle, the Monument, and Main and Jefferson.  For specific performance information, click HERE.

The Cancer Center for Healthy Living will host its 10th annual Spirit of Living Dinner Friday evening at the Packard Plaza. The night will consist of cocktails, dinner, a speaker, entertainer and presentation of annual awards and will recognize those who are an inspiration to all cancer survivors as well as those who inspire the organization. The Peoria Ballet swings into spring with a fine wine and craft beer tasting event at WeaverRidge on Friday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. A wide range of international wines and beers provided by R.J. Distributing Co. will be available in addition to hors d'oeuvres and snacks. Down the Road continues this Friday at the ICC Performing Arts Center. The story concerns a husband and wife writing team hired to assist a convicted serial killer in writing an account of his crimes. Are they simply relating events, or are they helping a serial killer become a celebrity? Directed by Alan Walker, performances begin at 7:30 pm. Corn Stock for Kids continues with its production of Disney's Mulan Jr. at the Theatre Center located in Upper Bradley Park on Friday at 7:30 pm, and Saturday & Sunday at 2:30 pm.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children 12 & under and are available at the Box Office or by calling 676-2196.

A Party for the Planet will be held at the Peoria Zoo on Saturday from 11 am -  3 pm.  Activities include a sea lion feeding, animal encounters, a snake feeding, planting a garden for the animals plus recycling games.  The event is free with admission to the zoo which is $5.95 for adults and $3.75 for kids.  For more information, call 681-3513.

The 5th Annual Earth Day Festival will take place Saturday at Forest Park Nature Center from 11 am - 4 pm. Locate local resources, identify environmentally-friendly products, and learn what you can do to make a difference. This fun, family-friendly event will also offer hands-on demos, kids crafts and face painting, numerous displays, and chances to win "green" door prizes. The Peoria Symphony performs on Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center Theatre in celebration of the symphonic world's greatest imaginative creator, Beethoven. Opening with excerpts from the masterpiece opera, Fidelio, it will feature the voices of Amber Wagner, Katherine Lerner, Phillip Lima and Edward Mout, plus the power of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and Bradley Chorus. Also on Saturday, the Peoria Chiefs take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels beginning at 6:30 pm at O'Brien Field. The Wildlife Trail Classic, a fun and rewarding 5K cross country run/walk, will take place on Saturday at the Riverplex to benefit the Heart Health Education Fund at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Also on Saturday, the Peoria Magicians Assembly presents Lost in Illusion, a magic and variety show featuring a family-oriented production in two acts, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
