The Morton Civic Chorus under the direction of Denise Adams will present Encore 2009 tonight through Sunday at Bradley's Hartmann Center Theater. The Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria will host a Progressive Garden Walk Saturday from Noon to 8 pm. The walk features five gardens as well as local musicians and artists, food samples and drinks. Original artwork and plants will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the church located at 3000 W Richwoods Blvd or at the gardens the day of the walk. To attend only the church events, tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family and may be purchased at the church. |

The Illinois River Wine Trail and the Village of Manito are hosting the 1st Annual Illinois River Wine, Art and Jazz Festival on Saturday from 11 am - 8 pm. The festival will be held at Manito's Memorial Park. At least eight Illinois wineries will offer tastings and wine sales, with numerous artisans displaying and selling their creations. Jazz musicians for the day include David Berchtold Duo with Bill Schlipf on upgright bass from 11 am - 2 pm, Kevin Hart and the Vive Tribe from 2- 5 pm, and Sally Weisenburg and the Famous Sidemen from 5 - 8 pm. Local hot air balloonists will be present with balloon lift-offs at 5:00pm and "night glow" at approximately 8 pm. Entry Fee of $10 will include a wine glass and 5 tasting tickers. | The Old Time Folk and Country Jam takes place Sunday at Forest Park Nature Center from 3:30 - 5 pm. Meet other musicians and learn some new songs. On Monday, the Peoria Municipal Band will perform beginning at 7:30 pm at the Peoria Riverfront. Conducted by David Vroman, the band will perform a Memorial Day concert. |

Also on Monday, Operation Santa, The Peoria Chiefs, and Illinois Valley Striders will host the second annual run/walk to benefit Operation Santa. The 3 lap course that finishes inside O'Brien Field. Stay for Military Appreciation Day at the Peoria Chiefs. Registration Starts at 6 am, the race starts at 8 am. The race fee is $25 and tickets for the game after the race are $5 for Club Box, $4.50 for Box seats and $3 for Lawn seats. For more information, call 680-4000. |
