Annie Get Your Gun continues tonight through Sunday at Peoria Players. Revived on Broadway in 1999, it's the story of Annie Oakley who gets her big break into show business with her rifle markmanship. Performances begin at 7:30 pm except for the Sunday matinee, which begins at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for youth 18 & under. The 2009 IHSA Chess Tournament will be held in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Hall and Ballroom this weekend. Times are 10 am - 8 pm on Friday and 9 am - 5 pm on Saturday. Admission is free for spectators. Grandmaster Yury Shulman, the 2008 U.S. Open Champion, will be in attendance on Saturday. He will observe games, mingle with students and give demonstrations in the practice area. |

The Progressive Business Group will hold the 7th Annual Valentine Charity Ball on Saturday to benefit the Center for Prevention of Abuse at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria.
