Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Nicholas Myers, vocal performance & composition student at Bradley University, will present his senior recital tonight beginning at 7:30 pm at the Dingeldine Music Center. A choir comprised of members from throughout the Peoria area will perfom several of his original compositions plus he will perform vocal selections as well. The public is invited and the event is free to attend.

The March Madness Experience will be open tonight from 6 - 9 pm, Friday from 10 am - 9 pm, and Saturday from 9 am - 6:30 pm.  The Experience offers a wide variety of games for kids of all ages, each one based on a MME largest hoop basketball theme and all with its own interesting challenge.  It even has a kid-friendly area for those youngsters 12 and under.  Click here for a complete list of games in the Experience.  Admission is free with a game day ticket or just $2 at the door.

March Madness is back in Peoria:  the IHSA Boys Basketball Class A Semi-Final Session will be held on Friday at Carver Arena with games at 12:15 pm,1:45 pm and Class AA games at 6:30 pm 8:15 pm.  The Class A finals will be on Saturday at 11:15 am (consoluation game), 12:45 am (championsip game), and Class AA at 6:30 pm (consulation game) and 8:15 pm (championship game). Individual tickets are $4.50, $6.50, $8.50 and $10.50 and are on sale now at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office, by calling 676-8700 or at Ticketmaster online.  Citylink will provide transportation to & from many hotels for only $1 each way or get a unlimited ride weekend pass for only $5.

Cash on Delivery  continues this weekend at the Barn II Dinner Theatre.  Expreience the life of the unemployed Eric Swan, who is collecting government benefits on an assortment of imaginary roommates, barely keeping one step ahead of the investigating authorities. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sundays, doors and the buffet open at noon, and the show is at 1:30 pm. Prices are $30 for Thursdays, $32 for Fridays and Sunday brunch and $34 for Saturdays. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest opens this Friday and runs through Sunday at Peoria Players Theater.  Based on Ken Kesey's book of the same name, this drama tells the story of the clashes between mental institution patient Randle McMurphy and Head Nurse Ratched. The classic American drama is a high-powered exploration of the human psyche and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships. Some content may not be suitable for children under 18 years of age.  All performances begin at 7:30 pm, except the Sunday performances, which begin at 2:30 pm.  The Hearts at Home National Conference will take place at the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University on Friday beginning at 8 pm with events continuing until 5:30 pm Saturday.  Hearts at Home provides moms with a weekend to enjoy the many facets of motherhood.  Registration is $85.  For more information, click HERE.

Comedian Rodney Carrington will perform in the Peoria Civic Center Theater at 7 pm Friday evening. Tickets are $40.25 and are on sale now at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 676-8700 and online at Ticketmaster.

Also on Friday night, Noche de Fiesta will be held at the Peoria Civic Center Ballroom with free salsa dance lessons from 7 - 8 pm, and music and dancing from 8 - 11 pm.  Music will be provided by Grammy-nominated Angel Melendez & 911 Mambo Orchestra, as well as DJ Caballero. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Kids 12 and under are just $10. The 16th Annual In Bloom Style Show sponsored by the Pilot Club of Peoria will be held at the Par-A-Dice Hotel on Saturday. Doors will open at 11:00 am with lunch being served at 11:30 am. The Flanagan House Museum hosts "A Timeless Irish Tale" Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 5 pm.  The event will feature costumed characters portraying several members of the Flanagan family and friends. The Peoria Rivermen take on the Quad City Flames Sunday beginning at 3 pm in Carver Arena at the Peoria Civic Center. It's Family Day:  Kids 12 & under get $1 admission, hot dogs, chips & Cokes are only $1 each for one hour before the game plus there will be inflatable games, balloon art, face painting and a post-game skate with the players. The ICC Hard Bop Jazz Band will perform big band music with a kick Sunday at the Radisson Hotel from 6 - 9:30 pm. The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will perform during the middle set.  Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.  For more infromation, call 692-5330.

The 29th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 11 am on Tuesday in downtown Peoria and will be followed by the St. Patrick's Society of Peoria's annual party at the Holiday Inn City Centre.  There will be more than 90 entries in the parade this year.  Entertainment at the party will include Bogside Zukes from Noon to 12:45 pm and 1:30 to 2:15 pm.  Flynn's Irish Dancers will perform from 1-1:30 pm.  Mullane Irish Dancers will perform from 2:30 - 3 pm.  Food including corned beef, irish potatoes, hot dogs, chips, Irish stew and Bailey's cheesecake.
