The Peoria Chiefs take on the Burlington Bees beginning at 7 pm at O'Brien Field tonight, at 6:30 pm on Friday, at 6:30 pm on Saturday and at 2 pm on Sunday. Saturday night is also Legends at the Ballpark night where former Chicago Cub Lee Smith will be on hand for the dinner, presentation by Smith, the game, a silent audition and fireworks. The Journal Star is in the process of creating its 2nd hard-bound historic retrospective of Peoria in conjunction with the Peoria Historical Society. The book will feature more than 300 nostalgic images, capturing the wonderful heritage of the Peoria area from the 1940's, 50's and 60's. As part of this project, they are hosting a Peoria Memories II Scanning Session where you may bring photos you have of the Peoria are during 1940-1969 along with a brief description of the photos to be scanned while you wait to possibly be included in the book. Space limitations may prevent your picture from being used, but they will include as many as possible. Scanning sessions are today from 3 - 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm. The scanning sessions will take place at the Pettengill-Morron House located at 1212 Moss Ave. For more information, call 674-1921.

| The Contemporary Art Center presents Lyfe on Water Street, an open mic for poetry, prose, plays, acoustic music tonight from 7-9 pm. Come with your talent or just to watch.
