The Contemporary Art Center presents Lyfe on Water Street, an open mic for poetry, prose, plays, acoustic music tonight from 7 - 9 pm.  Come with your talent or just to watch. Share a poem, dramatically read Shakespeare or perform your latest musical composition.
On Friday, Doc Rodgers & the Rock Dodgers will perform at the CAC's Live at the Five Spot from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Tickets are $7 for members and $10 for non-members.
The CAC also presents Salsa at CAC Friday night, a Latin dance lesson and open dancing. The dance lesson runs from 8:30 - 9:30 pm and open dancing is from 9:30 pm -12:30 am. Open dancing to DJ Ed Caballero. Admission is $3 CAC members and $6 non-members.

The Peoria Historical 75th Anniversary & Dinner will take place in the Lakeside Room at the Country Club of Peoria on Friday with a cocktail reception beginning at 5:30 pm, guest speaker at 6:30 pm and dinner at 7:15 pm.  Lewis Lehrman, author of Lincoln at Peoria: The Turning Point, will be the guest speaker. Tickets are $100 per person. Howl-Zoo-Ween at Peoria Zoo is Friday and Saturday night, with trick or treat trails, magic shows, costume contest and much more.  The event from 5:30 - 8:30 each night. Admission is $3  for Zoo members and $5 for non-members.

The Peoria Mustangs take on Cleveland at Owens Center on Saturday beginning at 6:45 pm and then again on Sunday at 1:15 pm.  Tickets are $5 for each game and are available at the door.

The Fancy Schmancy Fall Festival to benefit the Peoria Area Food Bank runs Saturday from 8 am - 3 pm. The festival features local artisans selling their products and coincides with the Fall Market on the Riverfront which features locally grown pumpkins, mums, apples, fall produce, straw bales, cornstalks, arts, crafts, live music & more.

Man 1, Bank 0 starring Patrick Combs, a comedic look at his real-life experience of depositing a contest entry check for $95,000 and the adventure that ensues, will be presented at the ICC Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $24 for adults, $$20 for ICC employees and $16 for students & senior citizens and are available at the ICC Box Office or by calling 694-5136.  Citylink will be running its Park & Ride service to this event. 

Peoria Theater presents a Gay and Lesbian Film Festival beginning at 2 pm on Saturday with A Beautiful Thing at 2 pm, a free showing of Too Wong Foo at 5 pm and and the acclaimed documentary Outrage at 8 pm.  There will also be a Patrick Swayze tribute, free pizza, drink specials. This is an all-ages event and tickets are $5 for each of the 2 pm & 8 pm shows or $8 for an day-pass.

The Shoppes at Grand Prairie presents Pumpkins on the Prairie this Saturday with special deals and fun for the whole family.  Purchase a pumpkin from the Pumpkin patch and paint a face on it.  Enjoy seasonal delights such as a horse drawn hayrack rides, music, face painting, inflatable bouncer, and view the chainsaw artist at work from 1 - 5 pm.
