The Friends of Peoria Public Library will hold their annual Fall Book Sale today through Tuesday, November 10 in the Auditorium of the Main Street Branch of Peoria Public Library at 107 N.E. Monroe.  Fans of cartoonist Julie Larson, creator of the Dinette Set cartoon, will have the opportunity to meet her and get her autograph on Saturday between 10 am and noon.  The sale is open to the general public on Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm. Monday is the half-price sale from 10 am - 5 pm and Tuesday is a $3 bag sale from 1 to 6 pm. 

The Peoria Charter School Initiative will host a Community Forum on the 4th Floor of the Peoria Civic Center tonight at 5:30 pm.  A group of 20+ seniors from the Chicago Math & Science Academy accompanied by teachers, parents and administrators will share their charter school experience and answer questions. The forum is free and open to the public.  Parking is free in the Civic Center lot.

Bradley University Theatre presents a dynamic (and dark) new adaptation of Pinocchio at 8 pm tonight, Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 pm on Sunday. Perfromances are at Bradley's Hartmann Center for Performing Arts. The Sierra Club presents an Environmental Film Festival at the Apollo Theatre on Main St. in Downtown Peoria on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids under 12. A representative from Bauer Power, a local renewable energy analyst and installer for homes and businesses, will be available at the festival also.

Corn Stock Winter Playhouse presents Speed-The-Plow, an award-winning play by David Mamet that satirically dissects the American movie business.
