The Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria will host their September YPO Social tonight from 5 to 7 pm at Brewers Distibutors in North Peoria. This event will feature a Bags Tournament, plus drinks and appetizers will be provided. The event is free for members and $5 for non-members.

The Peoria Chiefs take on the Kane County Cougars tonight and Friday at 6:30 pm at O'Brien Field each night.  Tickets are $10 for Club Box, $9 for Box or $6 for Lawn and are available at the O'Brien Field box office, by phone at 866-698-4253 or online HERE.

Broadway Light, Corn Stock Theatre's bonus production, opens tonight and continues on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm under the Corn Stock Tent in Bradley Park. Written and directed by Rebekkah Bourland with musical direction by Mel White, the best of Broadway comedy songs will be performed by some of Peoria's local favorites. Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, presented by Youthlight at Eastlight Theatre, opens tomorrow night and continues Saturday at 7:30 pm and on Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for senior citizens 65+ and $10 for youth through high school and are available at the Eastlight Box Office, by calling 699-SHOW or online HERE.

Jukebox Comedy Club presents the Semi-Finals and Finals of their 8th Annual Amateur Tournament. The two semi-final rounds of the tournament take place Thursday and Friday night at 8 pm.  The top 3 scores from each of those rounds, (plus one"wild card") will make the Finals on Saturday at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 each night.

The Illinois Blues Festival is this Friday and Saturday at the Peoria Riverfront and will feature three entertainment stages, musician workshops, artists, merchandise vendors, food and drink. Advance tickets are $15 per day or 2-Day advanced tickets are $25. Children under 12 are free with an adult. The 2009 Italian Fest will take place in Jacobs Park in Farmington from 8 am through Midnight on Saturday.  The event begins with the "Race for the Fest", a Kids Fun Run, a 3-on-3 Basketball contest, co-ed softball, bocce ball, a "sacco" (bags) tourney, and entertainment throughout the afternoon including The Willies beginning at 8 pm.  There will also be a spaghetti eating contest, a kiddie tractor pull, Bovina Bingo, a largest tomato contest, inflatable kids rides plus a beer tent and food.  Admission and parking is free.  For more information, go to www.farmingtonil.com.

Wildlife Prairie State Park continues its Movie Under the Stars series with Disney's BOLT on Friday night under the park's famous tepee shelter. The fee is $12 per carload. Gates open at 7:15 pm and show time is at 8 pm. Ice cream, popcorn, smores & drinks will be available for purchase.
On Saturday, their Junior Explorers Class combines nature, learning, friends, and fun into a monthly class hosted by the Wildlife Prairie State Park Education Department from 1-3 pm for ages 5-7. The ADM River City Classic Charity Tourney is on Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm at the Riverplex. This charity sand volleyball tournament will benefit Easter Seals and United Way. Food and beverages are available as well as door prizes. For more information and registration, call 669-1768.
