Jake Johannsen will perform at the Jukebox Comedy Club this weekend.  He has appeared on several late-night talk shows, including the Tonight Show, and over 40 appearances on the David Letterman Late Show.  Showtimes are tonight through Saturday at 8 pm and 10:30 pm each night. Tickets are $19 or $18 with cash, except for the Thursday and the Friday late show which are $12 with cash.

Peoria celebrates its German heritage with its annual Oktoberfest beginning at 5 pm on Friday and continuing through Sunday on the Peoria Riverfront.  Hosted by the Peoria Park District and the German American Central Society, the annual German Festival, showcases German heritage through song, dance, food, drink, cultural exhibits and much more.  There will be German bands and musicians on multiple stages, vendors, food and beer.   Admission is $7 for adults per day or $12 for a weekend pass.  Children 12 & under are free.  For more information, click to go to the Peoria German Society website.

Wildlife Prairie State Park hosts Movie Under the Stars with 101 Dalmations on Friday night. The fee is $12 per carload. Gates open at 7:15 pm and show time is 8 pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Wildlife Prairie State Park Off-Road Triathlon/Biathlon is this Saturday at 10 am at the Parkside Pavilion, across the street from the prk.  The triathalon includes a swim, 10k mountain bike race and a 5k trail run.  The Biathaolon includes a 10k mountain bike race and  5k trail run.   The triathalon fee is $30 for  individual adults and $25 for children under 18.  The biathalon fee is $25 for individual adults & children. The annual Illinois River Sweep is this Saturday and begins at Forest Park Nature Center with registration from 8 - 9 am, and the Sweep is from 9 am - Noon.  Hundreds of volunteers will work all along the shores of the river from Chicago to Grafton to pick up litter.  Gloves and all the trash bags you can fill will be provided.
