The Contemporary Art Center presents Lyfe on Water Street tonight from 7 - 9 pm, an open mic event hosted by Sherry Harvey. The Peoria Rivermen will take on the Chicago Wolves at the Peoria Civic Center Arena at 7 pm Friday night. On Sunday, the Rivermen will take on the Houston Aeros at 5 pm. The 8th Annual MS Carnivale Mardi Gras Celebration will take place on Friday at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria. Guests are invited to don their most festive attire and dance the night away. A benefit for St. Jude's Children's Hospital in honor of Dax Locke will take place at the Five Points Center in Washington on Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm. The event, called "Dax's Day", is seeking to raise $1.6 million. Proceeds will benefit the not-for-profit hospital which treats children with cancer without asking for payment.
