This Friday marks the deadline for submissions to bring Google's experimental, ultra-high speed broadband network to Peoria. Join fellow supporters at the "Send It" Party at Kelleher's on Friday between 4 - 6 pm, when Mayor Ardis will officially send our submission to Google. Kelleher's will provide appetizers and there will be prize giveaways. If you haven't already, you can still nominate Peoria by visiting www.googleplaysinpeoria.com.

The Indo-American Society of Peoria presents Bollywood Night 2010 from 6:30 - 10 pm at the Scottish Rite in downtown Peoria. It's Peoria's annual extravaganza featuring popular songs and dances from India's vibrant motion picture industry. The 40th Annual Central Illinois World Affairs Conference will take place Friday and Saturday at the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Conference Center in East Peoria. Rob Williams & the Soggy Bottom Blues Band will perform at the Live at the Five Spot on Friday from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Contemporary Art Center. Soulful Sunday at the Contemporary Art Center presents Gumbo for the Soul featuring family oriented entertainment with stand up comedy, special performances and R&B and gospel choral music on Sunday from 3 - 5 pm. Admission is $5 for members and $8 for non-members.
