The 2010 Brimfield Old Settlers Days sponsored by the Brimfield Area Men's Club will run tonight (Thursday) beginning at 5:30 pm, Friday beginning at 5 pm and Saturday beginning at 6:30 am. Statler Brothers' Jimmy Fortune will perform on Saturday at 6 pm & 9 pm and the Panther Creek Duo will also perform on Saturday at 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Other activities include a beer garden, carnival rides, bingo, a fried chicken dinner (Saturday), a 3 on 3 youth basketball, Jamm Sammich (Friday at 7:30 pm), an arts & crafts fair a parade, a kids' pedal pull, a petting zoo, and the Brimfield Old Settlers Days 5k Walk/Run (Saturday at 8 am).

The Summer Soiree for the Duck Race for The Center for Prevention of Abuse will be tonight (Thursday) from 5 - 7 pm at the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino, featuring hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, silent auction and the music of Preston Jackson and Friends. The Mitchell "JJ" Anderson All-Star Basketball Camp will be held in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Hall today (Thursday) and Friday. The Illinois State Fair returns to the Springfield State Fairgrounds on Friday and runs through Sunday August 22. The 300 block of Water Street comes alive on Friday nights during the Water Street Fiesta from 5 - 10 pm. The event features an eclectic mix of vendors and street entertainers, shopping, fun, food, and drinks.

Soul Fest returns to the RiverFront this weekend. Friday night will feature local artists & entertainers as they showcase their Gospel talents, and Saturday night will feature EnVogue. Hours are 5 - 11 pm both nights. Admission is $5 on Friday and $15 on Saturday.
