The 2010 Marigold Festival kicks off on Friday with Friday Night Family Fest in downtown Pekin then continues on Saturday with the Marigold 5k Run & Walk at Coal Miner's Park. The Down the River Festival honoring the life and music of Bluegrass singer/songwriter John Hartford will take place on Saturday at the Murray Center Outdoor Building located across Water Street from Hooter's in downtown Peoria. A Tree Identification Walk will take place at Forest Park Nature Center on Sunday from 1:30 - 2:30 pm for ages 10 & up.
