Bring the kids, lawn chairs and blankets for Movie Night at Mineral Springs Park in Pekin (in the grassy area across from the Pavilion)  Tonight (Thursday) see Finding Nemo beginning at 8:45 pm.  The concession stand will be open. Admission is free.

Tonight (Thursday) is Family Swim Night at Lakeview Aquatic Center. from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. The Peoria Chiefs vs. Kane County begins tonight (Thursday) at 7 pm at O'Brien Field. The Chiefs also play Kane County at home on Friday at 6:30 pm. The Billy Cook Quintet will perform at the CEFCU Jazz Series at the Landing on the Peoria RiverFront beginning at 7 pm tonight (Thursday). This event is free, features local jazz artists and is supported by CEFCU and the Illinois Jazz Society. The Landing will be open to serve beverages.

The 1st Annual Luau Allégro to benefit Peoria Ballet will be held on Saturday at the newly renovated Mt. Hawley Country Club pool complex from 7-9pm. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided and a full cash bar will be available. The highlight of the evening will be a short performance by Peoria Ballet Academy students. Tickets are $25 per person. On Sunday, the Peoria German-American Society will be hosting their annual Volksfest at Hickory Grove Park from Noon to 8 pm. This family friendly event will feature free admission and parking. The Central Illinois Cruisers will be hosting "Super Cruisin'," a classic car show, on Sunday from 12 - 4 pm at the Par-A-Dice Hotel parking lot. Proceeds will benefit the Center for Prevention of Abuse. There are more than 200 cars expected to be on display plus activities will include raffle drawings, door prizes, a live DJ and a 50/50 drawing at 3 pm. (50 percent of money from ticket sales will go to the Center for Prevention of Abuse, and the other half to the winning ticket holder). Food and drinks will also be available. Admission is free.
The Peoria Municipal Band will perform in concert on Sunday at the Glen Oak Park Amphitheatre beginning at 7:30 pm.  Featured soloists are Eileen Prescott (flute) and Deb Austin (vocalist).  Directed by Dr. David Vroman, Department Chair for music at Bradley University. Admission is free.
