The 2011 Arts in Education Spring Celebration (Brown Bag It) takes place each weekday beginning at 11 am through May 27. Performances and displays take place on three stages at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza: the Circle, the Monument, and Main and Jefferson. The Peoria Chiefs take on Clinton tonight (Thursday) beginning at 6:30 pm at O'Brien Field. The Chiefs will also play Clinton on Friday at 11am as well as Kane County on Saturday at 6:30 pm and Sunday at 5 pm. The Cemetery Club is a heartwarming comedy about life, love and the pursuit of happiness and will be performed at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield tonight through June 12. On Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sundays, doors & the buffet open at noon, and the show is at 1:30 pm. Whisper & Shout at the Contemporary Art Center is an open mic for sharing and inspiring poetry. This week's theme is "Back in the Day". Doors open tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 pm, show begins at 8 pm. Admission is $4 for members or $7 for non-members.
