Brimfield Old Settlers Days will take place beginning at 5:30 pm tonight (Thursday) with live music, a beer garden, Wildlife Prairie Park animals and opening ceremonies at 7 pm. On Friday, there will be a fried chicken dinner from 5 - 8 pm and Jamm Sammich will perform beginning at 7:30 pm. The Old Settler's 5k walk/run will start at 8 am on Saturday (registration begins at 6:30 am) plus there will be children's bicycle races, an arts & crafts fair, a parade at 1pm and chicken dinners from 5 - 8 pm. Look, No Hans! runs this weekend at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield. On Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. The Illinois State Fair will run beginning Friday through Saturday, August 21 at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield from 7 am - Midnight each day with buildings open from 9 am - 9 pm. General Admission is $5 for adults 13 and older, $2 for children aged 5-12, free for children under 5, $2 for senior citizens ages 60 and older. Vehicle Parking is $7 for a single day. The Friday Night Water Street Fiesta takes place every Friday night between 5 - 10 pm on the 300 block of Water Street. Enjoy Peoria's riverfront with good food and variety street entertainment while you shop. The street is closed off to accommodate the festival and admission is free.

Disney's Enchanted will be the feature presentation at Movies Under the Stars at Metro Centre on Friday with the pre-show beginning at 7:15 pm and the movie starting at 8:30 pm. Wildlife Prairie State Park's end of summer celebration, Family and Member Appreciation Day, will be on Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm. The River City Soul Fest celebrates Gospel music with a variety of local choirs and performers on Friday night and Saturday at Festival Park on the Peoria Riverfront with gates opening at 5:30 pm and music beginning at 6:30 pm.  Featured entertainment includes VaShawn Mitchell (Gospel) on Friday and Blackstreet (R & B) on Saturday.  Admission is $10 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. Peoria Players Theatre will hold an Audition Workshop for their upcoming production of Annie from 9:30 am - Noon on Saturday at the First Christian Church (located at 6400 N. University in Peoria).
