The Jukebox Comedy Club 10th Annual Amateur Tournament will be held this weekend from over 60 overall contestants. Shows are at 8 pm tonight (Thursday) and Friday night (the semi-finals) and at 8 pm on Saturday (the finals). 10 semi-finalists will perform each night on Thursday and Friday the top 8 will perform in the finals on Saturday. It will be followed by a Labor Day Picnic from 2 - 7 pm at the Peoria Riverfront Festival Park. The West MacQueen Street Band will perform throughout the event and food and drinks will be available. |
The Ivy Club (located at 5102 Galena Road, in Peoria Heights) will host its first annual Cardboard Boat Race Invitational from 1 - 4 pm on Monday. All proceeds benefit families affected by Alzheimer's disease. Entry Fee is $10 per boat, along with a $50 deposit. After the boat race, $40 will be returned to the participant and $10 will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association Central Illinois Chapter.
