Corn Stock Theatre will present A Cole Porter Review, written by former Corn Stock Theatre Manager Tom Joyce, and directed by Lee Wenger and Denise Adams and featuring local favorites of the Corn Stock stage at 7:30 pm tonight (Thursday) and Friday. The LST 325 Ship has docked on the Peoria riverfront near the RiverPlex and is open for tours daily from 9 am - 5 pm Thursday through Monday. The United Way's Day of Caring Food Drive will be held in the Peoria Civic Center's Marquee Parking Lot on the corner of Wm. Kumpf Blvd. and Jefferson Ave Friday from 9 am - 3:30 pm. This is the United Way's third annual food drive to help address the growing hunger issue in central Illinois. The public is invited to drop-off canned and boxed food items to the volunteers. The City of Peoria will commemorate the 10th Anniversary of September 11 by holding a 9/11 Remembrance Event at O'Brien Field on Saturday from 10 - 11:15 am. Admission is free.  Vice Admiral Robert S. Harward, Deputy Commander, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) will be the guest speaker at the event.  The gates of O'Brien Field will open at 9 am and spectators will be greeted with performances by The Peoria Ballet, Pulses of Hope, and the Richwoods Gospel Choir. Vehicles will be displayed along Jefferson Street to showcase first responders from the military, police, fire, and medical services.

Cause Walk: Puppies In Pink, a Non Competitive 5K Walk for Dogs, Dog Owners and Dog Lovers, will take place Saturday at Vicary Bottoms Dog Park (located off Kickapoo Creek Road, north of Farmington Road in Peoria) with registration beginning at 1 pm and the walk starting at 2 pm. Proceeds will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Fees in advance are $20 for adults or $5 for children under 12.
