The Contemporary Art Center presents Whisper & Shout, an open mic event for sharing and inspiring poetry tonight (Thursday). with doors opening at 7:30 pm and the performance beginning at 8 pm. Admission is $4 for members and $7 for non-members.

TheOscar Mayer Wienermobile will be making appearances in the Peoria area this weekend: at the Morton Wal-Mart (located at 155 E. Courtland St. in Morton) on Friday, at the north Peoria Wal-Mart (located at 8195 N. Allen Road in Peoria) on Saturday and at the Pekin Wal-Mart (located at 2230 Veterans Drive in Pekin) on Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm each day. Wiener whistles will be given out at the appearances while supplies last.

Peoria native, Robin Rose, will present three Aerial Silk Performances on Fridayat 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm at Studio 825 (located at 825 SW Adams in Peoria), a member of CIAO (Central Illinois Artists Organization). TheCIAO First Fridays Artists' Tour will take place on Friday from 5 - 9 pm at 10 different locations in downtown Peoria including The Mill, Murray Center for the Arts, the Contemporary Art Center, and the Peoria Art Guild where visitors can view artist demonstrations as well as purchase pieces. The Peoria Rivermen will take on the Chicago Wolves at the Peoria Civic Center on Friday beginning at 7 pm. 
And on Sunday, the Rivermen will take on the Milwaukee Admirals at the Peoria Civic Center beginning at 5 pm. Bald Eagle Day will be presented by Peoria Audubon Society and Forest Park Nature Center on Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm at the Nature Center. Each year hundreds of bald eagles over-winter in the Illinois River Valley. There will be a presentation and tours to view Bald Eagles along the river. Admission is free, however donations are appreciated.
The 9th Annual Peoria Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament will take place this Saturday in Bradley Park with registration from 10:30 - 11 am at the pavilion by the tennis courts, a players meeting at 11:15 am and tee off at 11:30 am.  Awards will be immediately following the round at Cam's on Farmington Road.  Admission is $55 per team.
