The 27th Annual Arts in Education Spring Celebration is being held in the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza from 11am - 1:30 pm every weekday through May 25th. More than 12,000 students from over 110 schools in seven counties will perform, exhibit and demonstrate their talents in the fine and applied arts. Live the life of a T-Rex or Triceratops using computer simulations at the "Be a Dinosaur" exhibit at Lakeview Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) daily through May 20th. The "Dinosaurs, Solve the Mysteries" Planetarium Show at Lakeview Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) will be held on Saturdays at Noon & 1:30 pm, Sundays at 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm and Thursdays at 6 pm through May 31st. Visit dinosaur graveyards, study their bones and reconstruct how dinosaurs lived and died. Admission is $4 for adults, $3.50 for youth and seniors and free for members. Bradley Braves Baseball will take on Creighton at O'Brien Field on Friday beginning at 6 pm and again on Saturday at 2 pm and Sunday at 1 pm. Forest Park Nature Center (located at 5809 Forest Park Dr. in Peoria Heights) will host a Migratory Bird Walk from 7:30 - 8:30 am where you can see spring migrants and resident birds with a naturalist or a guide from Peoria Audubon. Please bring your own binoculars. All levels of experience are welcome: geared toward ages 10 & up. No registration required and admission is free, however donations are appreciated. Take part in a Civil War Spring Drill at Sommer Park (located at 6329 N. Koerner Rd. in Edwards) from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday & 10 am - 3 pm on Sunday. Civil War enthusiasts from the Midwest will bring to life the joys and sorrows of the time. Admission is $2 per person or a maximum of $10 per car. Bring a camera and have your picture taken with the soldiers.
The Peoria Park District's Annual Drama Festival will take place at Corn Stock Theatre (located in upper Bradley Park in the tent) on Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm. Admission is free. The  Alzheimer's Association Kentucky Derby Party will take place beginning at 4:30 pm on Saturday at the Country Club of Peoria (located at 4700 N. Grandview Drive in Peoria Heights). The 41st Annual Pekin Ambucs Charity Auction will take place beginning at 5 pm Saturday at Pekin's Mineral Springs Park. New and used items, celebrity items, gift certificates and even a few vehicles will be auctioned off. Auction proceeds benefit many local charities. An Evening of Music with the Philharmonic Chorale will be held Saturday beginning at 7:30 pm at the Illinois Central College Performing Arts Center.
