The Exhibition "K'NEX Building Thrill Rides" will take place through September 1 at Lakeview Museum in Peoria. Use K'NEX rods and connectors to build a thrill ride of your own, which will help you understand the different properties of physics such as centrifugal force, kinetic energy, and motion. The Peoria Historical Society hosts the Grandview Drive and Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour every Thursday from 10:30 - Noon through October and every Saturday from from 1 - 2:30 pm through August. The 2012 Princeville Heritage Days and 175th Anniversary of Princeville will be a family fun weekend filled with entertainment, food tent, carnival, parade and much more. The opening ceremony is tonight (Thursday) beginning at 5:45 pm. Local talent will perform on Friday night:  a talent show will take place on the main stage at 6 pm followed by contemporary gospel performer Rachel West Kramer. Saturday begins with the Princeville Sports Boosters 5K Run/Walk followed by a pancake and sausage breakfast at the food tent then a car show and softball tournament, a parade at 2 pm followed by the kiddie tractor pulls and the carnival which opens at 3 pm. Saturday entertainment includes Joe Crumine and the Original Skazz Band, Paula Mensinger and 7 West. On Sunday, there's a breakfast in the park and the community church service at 10:30 am and the Lion's Club lunch beginning at 11:30 am plus the carnival from noon - 4 pm.

Universal Rhythm Assembly is a groundbreaking festival returning to the Riverfront Festival Park in downtown Peoria on Friday & Saturday from 4 pm - midnight each day. This year's festival will be the sixth annual and will feature 2 nights of outstanding live performances. The Peoria County Farm Bureau's 100th Anniversary will be celebrated at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie from 10 am - 6 pm. Both new and antique tractor owners are encouraged to participate in the drive of 8 to 10 miles that leaves the center at 10 am and returns before Noon. The Peoria Astronomical Association will hold an Open House and Dedication of the renovated Northmoor Observatory Visitor Center (located at Donovan Golf Course at 5805 N.
