The Heart of Illinois Fair continues through Saturday with gates open from 10 am - 10 pm each day. New events this year include a BBQ contest, the Heart of Illinois Fair 5K, a Bags Tournament, a Family Fun Zone in the air conditioned Exhibit Hall and the new free entertainment food court. The Exhibition "K'NEX Building Thrill Rides" will take place through Sept. 1 at Lakeview Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) from 10 am - 5 pm Monday -Saturday (until 8 pm on Thursdays) and from Noon - 5 pm on Sunday. Use K'NEX rods and connectors to build a thrill ride of your own, which will help you understand the different properties of physics such as centrifugal force, kinetic energy, and motion.
