The
27th Annual Arts in Education Spring Celebration is being held in the Peoria
County Courthouse Plaza from 11 am - 1:30 pm every weekday through May 25th. More
than 12,000 students from over 110 schools in seven counties will perform,
exhibit and demonstrate their talents in the fine and applied arts. For a

The "Dinosaurs, Solve the Mysteries" Planetarium Show at Lakeview
Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) will be held on Saturdays at Noon
& 1:30 pm, Sundays at 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm and Thursdays at 6 pm through May 31st.
Visit dinosaur graveyards, study their bones and reconstruct how dinosaurs lived
and died. Admission is $4 for adults, $3.50 for youth and seniors and free for

How They Run at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield runs through
Sunday. On Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet
is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On Sundays, doors & the buffet open at

Braves Baseball will take on Dallas Baptist tonight (Thursday) at the Peoria
Chiefs Stadium beginning at 6 pm. The Braves will also face Dallas Baptist on Friday
night at 6 pm and Saturday at 1 pm. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for youth
(K-12), Bradley students and staff are free with valid ID. Active military and
immediate families are free and a family pass with 2 adults and 4 children for

The Contemporary Art Center presents
Live at the Five Spotfeaturing Rachel's Hippo beginning at 5:30 pm

23rd Annual Carolyn Mannlein Memorial Family House Run/Walk will begin at

41st Annual Clyde West Fishing Derby will be held Saturday at the Glen Oak
Lagoon beginning at 9 am. Ages 9 & younger will fish until 11 am, ages 10 - 13

disabilities will fish from 1 - 3 pm. Bait, concessions and basic fishing

Gathering at Ft. Creve Coeur Park (located Rt. 29 in Creve Coeur) will take
place from 9 am - 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday. Experience the family-oriented
event featuring fur traders, teepees, crafts, a flea market and live bluegrass,

The
National Armed Forces Freedom Ride supporting armed forces and veterans will
begin at 9 am on Saturday with registration and sign-in at the VFW Post 4835 in
Creve Coeur. The ride starts at 11:30 am and ends at Knickerbockers Bar & Grill
in Sunnyland where there will be music, food, a silent auction and a car
cruise-in. Cost is $15 with proceeds benefiting the Homeless Vet Shelter in
Peoria and the VAC Food Pantry in Pekin.
The
2012 Ride for the Cure will begin at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie at Noon on
Saturday with a police-escorted parade for the Avanti's Dome in Pekin where an
after party will take place rain or shine. Motorcycle riders and passengers will
meet from 9 - 11 am prior to the race at the Shoppes. Food, drinks,
entertainment & a live auction will take place at the after party. Cost to

Local, the 2012 Local Author Fair will be held in the Peoria Public Main
Library Auditorium (located at 107 Northeast Monroe St. in Peoria ) on Saturday

Jazz presents Carl Anderson's New Orleans Jazz Band, composed of seven
