The
27th Annual Arts in Education Spring Celebration
The "Dinosaurs, Solve the Mysteries"
Planetarium Show at Lakeview Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria)
will be held on Thursdays at 6 pm, Saturdays at Noon & 1:30 pm and Sundays at
1:30 pm and 2:15 pm through May 31st.
Visit dinosaur graveyards, study their bones and reconstruct how dinosaurs lived
and died. Admission is $4 for adults, $3.50 for youth and seniors and free for

The
2012 Summer Camp Music Festival will be held this weekend at Three Sisters
Park in Chillicothe beginning today (Thursday) with a pre-party and running through
Sunday evening. Featuring over 75 bands on 7 stages over the course of 3 days,
the festival also features a kid's camp, an extensive representation of
non-profit organizations, on-site camping, unique arts & craft artisans, and a

2012 World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest will take place
throughout the Peoria area beginning tonight (Thursday) and running through
Monday

Peoria Chiefs will take on the Clinton LumberKings beginning at 6:30 pm
tonight (Thursday) and again on Friday at O'Brien Field in downtown Peoria.
The Chiefs will also face the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Saturday at 6:30 pm

25th Annual Louie Louie Parade & River Jam will take place on Friday beginning
at 3:30 pm with the parade through downtown Peoria and the River Jam running

4th Annual Manito Wine, Art, Balloon & Jazz Festival will take place

Zoo
Fest 2012 will take place on Saturday at the Peoria Zoo from 11am - 3 pm.
Beginning at 1 pm, watch zookeepers move the Chinese Alligator to her summer
exhibit plus enjoy bouncy rides, games, animal encounters and more. Admission is
$8.50 for adult (ages 13 and over), $4.75 for children (ages 3-12), free for

Participate
in a Barn Dance at Camp Wokanda on Saturday night from 7-10 pm. All skill
levels are welcome. Admission is $5 per person with a $20 maximum cost per
family.
Pioneer
Days will take place on Sunday at Sommer Park from 1 - 4 pm where you can
experience first-hand the daily life of rural Peorians in the mid 19th century.
Admission is $2 per person, ages four and up. Activities at the homestead, barn,
blacksmith shop and schoolhouse include laundry, gardening, woodworking,
blacksmithing, candle making and hands-on children's activities. This is a
wonderful opportunity for scout and youth groups to learn about history. For

The
Annual Memorial Day Celebration will take place on Monday near the Gateway
Building on the Peoria Riverfront with a Memorial Day remembrance service to
begin at 10:30 am under the Gateway Building which will pay tribute to all of
the men and women who have fought for America's freedom.
The
Peoria Municipal Band will perform a mini concert in conjunction with the
Memorial Day festivities on the Peoria riverfront on Monday beginning at 10:30

Cornerstone
Academy for Performing Arts will present a special performance at the
Cornerstone Building in downtown Peoria on Monday beginning at 1 pm. This
performance, which includes music, comedy and dance, is free to the public.
Light refreshments, snacks and raffles will be available plus a door prize for
