The
Exhibition
"K'NEX Building Thrill Rides" will take place through Saturday at Lakeview
Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) from 10 am - 5 pm Monday
-Saturday (until 8 pm on Thursdays) and from Noon - 5 pm on Sunday. Use K'NEX
rods and connectors to build a thrill ride of your own, which will help you
understand the different properties of physics such as centrifugal force,
kinetic energy, and motion. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for youth, $5 for

An
Evening with Patsy Cline continues at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield
tonight (Thursday) and runs through September 23rd. On Thursdays, Fridays &
Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On
Sundays, doors & the buffet open at noon, and the show is at 1:30 pm. Prices are

Jukebox
Comedy Club will host its 11th Annual Comedy Tournament Semis and Finals
tonight (Thursday) through Saturday beginning at 8 pm each night with doors
opening at 7 pm. Admission is $10 on Thursday & Friday and $12 on
Saturday. The culmination of a 6-week tournament, 9 amateurs will perform each
night plus past champions and finalists will also perform each night. The winner

The
24th Annual Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival will be held at Expo
Gardens (this is a recent change due to rain being forecast for the weekend) Friday evening and all day on Saturday.
Featuring three entertainment stages, musician workshops, vendors and blues food
from BBQ to Cajun to hamburgers, hotdogs, brats & beer, pre-sale tickets are $15

RiverFront Market takes place on the Peoria riverfront every Saturday

Sightseeing Cruise will take place on the Spirit of Peoria with boarding at
12:30 pm and the cruise running from 1 - 2:30 pm. Tickets are $16 for adults,

Kevin
Downes (co-star of the COURAGEOUS Movie and Producer of author Karen Kingsbury's
film LIKE DANDELION DUST) will be speaking following two screenings of the movieCourageous at Peoria First Church of the Nazarene (located at 5504 N. University in

A Lakeview Museum Tribute featuring the Beatle's Tribute Band, American English,
will take place throughout the day Saturday at the museum. Admission to all
events today is free. The Museum Gallery is open from 10 am - 5 pm, family fun
activities will be happening from 1 - 4 pm, pizza & ice cream will be available
on the back lawn from 5 - 7 pm and the concert will take place from 7 - 9 pm.

Italian
Fest 2012 will be held at Jacobs Farm in Farmington beginning on Saturday
with the Race the Fest 5K Run/2 Mile Walk at 7 am followed by the Kids Fun Run
and co-ed softball at 9 am, "Hot Shot" basketball and Bocce Ball at 11 am and
"Sacco" (Bags) at Noon. There will also be live entertainment including The
Willies from 8 pm - midnight, a spaghetti eating contest, a kiddie tractor pull,
50/50 drawings, inflatable kids rides plus a dunk tank and cruise in. Authentic
Italian cuisine will be served all day plus there will be a beer tent from Noon

Valley Vineyard will host its Grape Stomp and Harvest Festival on Sundayfrom Noon - 6 pm including a grape stomping contest, Lucy look-alike
competition, wine tasting and a harvest demonstration. There will also be food

Shoppes at Grand Prairie will host Performances on the Prairie on Sunday
from 12 - 3 pm in the Center Court. Admission is free. This month's
featured artists are Banjovi & Potts which includes Jim Bonnett and Jim Potts,
who have played in a variety of bluegrass and rock bands in Central Illinois for
over 20 years. They joined forces two years ago, and continue to perform a
mixture of traditional bluegrass, folk and rock favorites from the 70s.

Annual Labor Day Parade and Picnic with over 100 entries of various trade
unions starts at 2 pm on Monday (Labor Day) in front of the Fire Station on Monroe Street ending
at Peoria County Courthouse. The Labor Day picnic is from 2 - 7 pm at Riverfront

IVY Club Invitational Cardboard Boat Race will take place Monday beginning
at Noon. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association-Central Illinois
Chapter. Registration is $50 per boat with prizes being awarded to race winners.
