The
Peoria Zoo will host its Zoobrew & Wine Too! fundraiser tonight
(Thursday) from 5:30 - 7:30
pm in the Zambezi River Lodge. Guests can sample a variety of beers and wines
while enjoying appetizers, live music, dessert and a tour of the Africa!

The
Children's Home 48th Cattle Auction will take place tonight
(Thursday) beginning at 6 pm at Le Vieux Carre & Henri de Tonti Park (located on the
Peoria riverfront outside Kelleher's Pub & Eatery and the ELM building) and
features a silent auction with cocktails and hor d'oeuvres, dinner, live
auction, entertainment and the cattle auction. Tickets are $75 and are available

An
Evening with Patsy Cline continues at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield
tonight (Thursday) and runs through September 23rd. On Thursdays, Fridays &
Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm, buffet is at 6:30 pm, and the show is at 8 pm. On
Sundays, doors & the buffet open at noon, and the show is at 1:30 pm. Prices are

The
Central Illinois Herpetological Society will meet at Forest Park Nature
Center at 7 pm tonight (Thursday) featuring a speaker, raffles, announcements of
trips and exhibits and opportunities for hobbyists to interact with one another.
Admission is free. Membership to the CIHS is $20 per year which includes the
quarterly newsletter. The Society meets the first Thursday every month at this
time at Forest Park Nature Center.
The
Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, The Mikado, will be presented by Corn Stock

CIAO First Fridays Artists' Tour will take place on Friday from 5 - 9 pm at 10

RiverFront Market takes place on the Peoria riverfront every Saturday
morning through September from 8 am - Noon in Liberty Park (at the corners of
Liberty and Water Streets) featuring local produce, meats, cheeses, breads,
flowers and more plus local art, live music and demonstrations each week.

Presley's
Outdoors will host a Kids Fishing Derby at the Hooked on Fishing Park
(next to Dixon's Seafood Shoppes in East Peoria) on Saturday from 8 - 11 am.
There will be equipment available at no charge plus prizes awarded for the three
biggest fish caught in each of the age groups plus prizes for
catching specially tagged fish. The event is free, but donations are welcome.

Peoria's
36th Annual Cat Show 
Zoo
Hullabaloo, a benefit for Children's Hospital of Illinois, will be held at
the Peoria Zoo on Saturday from 10 am - 1 pm. Kids can enjoy the animals,
face-painting, snow cones and more while helping support the Children's Hospital
of Illinois. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $4 for children. Tickets
must be purchased in advance at Hy-Vee, Children's Hospital Foundation Office
(located at 4541 N. Prospect, Peoria Heights) or Align Life (located at 4821 N.

Seminar called "Living with and Preparing for Transplantation" will be

Illinois Central College Horticulture Department will host the 32nd Annual
Landscape and Garden Day, the biggest horticultural event in Central
Illinois, on Saturday from 9 am - 3 pm on the ICC East Peoria campus. Admission

WorldFest
2012 will be held on Saturday in the Peoria Civic
Center Exhibit Hall from 10 am - 4 pm. Admission and parking are free. The
International Food Court will feature ethnic appetizers and desserts from around
the world. There will also be entertainment provided by the participating ethnic
groups. The event also features a raffle with various prizes. Raffle tickets are

Sightseeing Cruise will take place on the Spirit of Peoria on Saturday with boarding at
12:30 pm and the cruise running from 1 - 2:30 pm. Tickets are $16 for adults,
$14 for senior citizens, $10 for kids 4-12 and free for infants and are

The
Peoria Firefighters Local 50 will host the annual Fire On The Water on
Peoria's RiverFront on Saturday with live music, food, a bags tournament at 1 pm,
a fire apparatus display (at Gateway Park) from 2 - 5 pm and live entertainment
by Casual Man Band
beginning at 5 pm followed by Wedding Banned until 11:30 pm. Cost per person is
$15 or $30 per team to participate in the bags tournament. Prizes will be
awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Admission is free until 5 pm: after 5
pm,
admission is $5 per person donation.

few quarters can win you some great prizes at the OSF Home Care Services
Quarter Auction at the Knights of Columbus St. Jude Hall (located at 3523 W.
Hill Street in Peoria) on Saturday with food available beginning at 5 pm and
the auction beginning at 6 pm. Admission is free: to participate in the auction,
the cost is $10 per person. There will also be a silent auction and live music.
Bring your own quarters or purchase them at the event. Auction items include
restaurant and store gift cards, tickets to sporting events, and an overnight
stay at Par-A-Dice Hotel and dinner for two.
Heartland
Festival Orchestra will present their 2012-13 season opener, Music's Fire,
at Five Points Performing Arts Center on Saturday beginning at 7:30 pm. Tickets
