The Teen Challenge Peoria Fall Fundraising Banquet, "An Evening of Excellence", will be held tonight (Thursday) in the Peoria Civic Center Ballroom beginning at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $35 per person and available by calling 309-673-3716.

The Dan Fogelberg Celebration Weekend kicks off on Friday with a Welcome Party at the Cornerstone Building (located at 321 NE Madison Avenue in Peoria) from 8 pm - Midnight where they'll celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dan's first album "Home Free" with the music from the album in its entirety to be performed by The River of Souls, a Dan Fogelberg tribute band as well as a diverse selection of other DF tunes will be performed by talented musician friends from across the country. Pioneer Days will take place Sunday at Sommer Park from 1 - 4 pm where you can experience firsthand the daily life of rural Peorians in the mid 19th century. The Illinois Valley Striders will host the new the Bridge to Bridge Run, a four mile running/walking event, on Sunday beginning at 8 am on Wm. Kumpf Boulevard near the Civic Center, crosses the Illinois River over the Bob Michel Bridge, tours the new Downtown East Peoria, returns to Peoria over the Cedar Street Bridge, continues through the Peoria Warehouse District, and finishes near Peoria Chiefs Stadium.
