Metamora Old Settlers Days will take place in the Park on the Square in Metamora featuring carnival rides, craft & food tents, games, the Illinois Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall and free nightly entertainment. Peoria Historical Society's "Old Peoria and the Judge Tour" which travels through the earliest sections of downtown and to Peoria's Northside, will take place every Friday in June beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria). The Olde English Faire will take place at Wildlife Prairie Park from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday. This event pays tribute to the sights, sounds, aromas, speech and activities of the Middle Ages where you can cheer on sword fighters, jousters and archers as they compete in mock battles. Take in the tales, tricks and tunes of roving story tellers, magicians and musicians. Watch the acrobats, musical acts and comedians amongst the flora and fauna of the park. Stargazing at Northmoor at the Northmoor Observatory (located on the Donovan Golf Course at 5805 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) will be open to the public for stargazing from dusk until 11 pm on Saturday (If the skies are cloudless). Studios on Sheridan (located in The Sunbeam Building at 929 N. Sheridan Rd. in Peoria) will host the first annual Hot CIAO! Exhibit Opening on Saturday from 6 - 9 pm. The Central Illinois Artists Organization (CIAO) is made up of over 70 area artists working in various mediums. The Peoria Push Derby Dames will take on the River Demons Roller Girls in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Hall on Saturday with doors opening at 4:30 pm, the first game at 5 pm and the main event beginning at at 6:30 pm. The Great Race will be held on Monday at the Gateway Building in Festival Park beginning at noon and a Cruise-In from 9 am - 3 pm. Admission is free. An antique, vintage and collector car competitive controlled-speed endurance road rally on public highways, the Great Race is not a test of top speed, but a test of a driver/navigator team's ability to follow precise course instructions and the car's (and team's) ability to endure on a cross-country trip.
