& Shout, an open mic for sharing and inspiring poetry, will be held at the
Contemporary Art Center tonight (Wednesday) with doors opening at 7:30 pm and

Band on Friday

annual
Fireworks Spectacular
at Glen Oak Amphitheatre will take place tonight (Wednesday) from 4 - 10 pm with
live entertainment and fireworks. Admission is free. Entertainment includes the
PPD Explosion Cheer Team from 4 - 4:30 pm, Troope Mirage from 4:30 - 5 pm, the
cast of Community Children's Theatre's "The Little Mermaid" from 5 - 5:30 pm,
the Peoria Ballet from 6 - 7:30 pm and the Municipal Band Patriotic Concert at 8
pm. Fireworks begin at dark. Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the show.

Clayton
Anderson will perform tonight (Wednesday) as part of the summer concert
series on the CEFCU Center Stage on the Peoria RiverFront with gates opening at
7:30 pm. Tickets are $7 and available at the gate. An up-and-coming country
singer/songwriter, Anderson's concerts are described as high energy, fun and
crowd pleasers. His first album, "Torn Jeans & Tailgates" was released just last
year. |

the Moss Bradley Residential Association for an Old Fashioned 4th of July
Celebration on Thursday at the Pettengill-Morron House (located at 1230 W
Moss Ave in Peoria) from Noon - 2 pm. Featuring the Peoria Pops Orchestra at
12:30 pm, hot dogs, chips, beverages and ice cream will be available for

Celebrate
Independence Day at the Peoria Historical Society's John C. Flanagan House
Museum (located at 942 NE Glen Oak Avenue in Peoria) on Thursday with gates
opening at 6 pm and fireworks at approximately 9:30 pm. Admission is $5 for
adults and $3 for children. Refreshments including soda, water, popcorn and
novelties will be available for $1 each. Watch the Peoria Riverfront fireworks

The Red, White & Boom Fireworks Display will take place on the Peoria
riverfront on Thursday beginning at 5 pm with vendors, live entertainment and

Historical Society's "Naughty
to Nice Trolley Tour" traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and
will take place every Friday in July beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's
Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria). Peoria
Historical Society's "Haunted Peoria" explores the darker side of Peoria
and takes you to places where strange sightings and legendary deaths have been
reported. The tour will take place every every Saturday in July beginning at 1

Stargazing
at Northmoor at the Northmoor Observatory (located on the Donovan Golf
