The 2013 Washington Cherry Festival will be held behind John Bearce Companies
on Business US RT 24 in Washington tonight (Thursday) through Saturday night.
The Festival opens at 5 pm tonight (Thursday), 9 am on Friday and 7 am on
Saturday. Highlights of the festival include a Beer Garden, live music, a
carnival, a pancake breakfast on Saturday, the Cherry Fest Run/Walk on Saturday,
a "Cherry Pit Spit", a disc golf tournament, a mini horse corral, a kiddie
tractor pull, a pie eating contest, a "Kidz Got Talent" competition plus a
merchant area, a raffle, photo contests, a Teen night on Thursday, fireworks on

of Order continues tonight (Thursday) at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield
and runs through Saturday. On Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, doors open at 6 pm,

Stock Theatre opens it's 60th Season under the tent with The Music Man on

The 16th Annual West Peoria Jamboree Family Fun Run will take place on
Saturday at the corner of Heading and Sterling Avenues in West Peoria beginning

The Run Wild 8K & Wild Mile Fun Run will take place at Wildlife Prairie State

The 2013 Washington Cherry Festival 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will take
place on Saturday beginning in front of Five Points (located at 360 N. Wilmor
Rd. in Washington) beginning at 7:30 am. This is an Illinois Valley Striders
Grand Prix event. Cost is $25 ($30 on Race Day) for the 5K Run and $15 for the 1

The Elmwood Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday in downtown Elmwood
featuring strawberry treats (such as strawberry pizza, strawberry shortcake,
strawberry shake ups, strawberry milkshakes, strawberry soda pop & strawberry
jam), musical entertainment, children's activities and crafts. There will be a
car show with registration from 8 am - Noon, the Elmwood Fire Dept, a pancake
and sausage breakfast from 6 am - 10 am, craft booths from 8 am - 6 pm, the

The Arthritis Walk, the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide signature event
that supports public awareness and raises funds to fight arthritis, will take
place on Saturday at the Rock Island Trail at Midstate College (located at 411

Market
on Moss, a French style market, will be held on Saturday at 2320 W. Moss Ave
(across Western Ave.) from 9 am - 3 pm featuring antiques, vintage curiosities,

The Easter Seals Backroads Tour is an annual motorcycle fun run that will
begin at 9 am on Saturday at Kelleher's Irish Pub in downtown Peoria and
conclude with a concert featuring The Boat Drunks beginning at 8:30 pm on the
CEFCU Center Stage at Peoria Riverfront. The ride's mission is to raise money in
support of central Illinois Easter Seals. Cost to participate is $20 per rider
and $10 per passenger in advance $25 per rider and $15 per passenger the day of
the event. A raffle for a 2013 Harley-Davidson Switchback will also take place
during the event with tickets costing $20 each, $50 for 3 and 7 for $100. The

Relive
the desperate days of Normandy 1944 at this World War II Reenactment at
Sommer Park (located at 6329 N. Koerner Road in Edwards) from 10 am - 4 pm on
Saturday & from 10 am - 3 pm on Sunday. Public battle demonstrations will be at
11 am & 2 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday with a Veteran Panel at 12:30 pm on
Saturday and a Church service at 11 am on Sunday. Admission is $10 per car per
day. Allied and German troops will present authentic displays of gear, weapons
and vehicles. World War II veterans are especially encouraged to attend, as they
will be honored and new this year is a WWII flyover. There will be
transportation available around the camps for those who need assistance. For

The Art on Main Festival will take place from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday and
from 11 am - 4 pm on Sunday in Jones Park in downtown Canton. The festival will
feature original pieces from 21 Midwest artists for viewing and purchase
including paintings, drawings, jewelry, ceramics, photography, glass, sculpture,
and wood. There will also be food, wine from Willett's Winery, and live music.

A Landslide Ride & Fundraiser will take place on Saturday beginning with a
motorcycle & classic car ride with Ride registration beginning at 10 am at the
Brass Key Lounge (located at 2410 E Washington St. in East Peoria). Cost is $20
per vehicle and $10 for each additional adult passenger. The Fundraiser for the
4 families recently devastated by the landslide in East Peoria will be held at
the Festival of Lights Building (located at 2200 East Washington St. in East
Peoria) beginning at 4 pm. with live entertainment, food, raffles, auctions, a
50/50 drawing & more. Admission including dinner (drinks not included) is $10
for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Admission without dinner is $5 for
adults and $3 for children.
Forest
Park Nature Center will host a Spring Art Show featuring local artists
from 10 am - 3 pm on Saturday. Admission is a free. There will be nature-themed
artwork including woodcarvings, watercolors, paintings, photography, handmade
jewelry as well as recycled art. There will also be artists on hand giving

Sightseeing Cruise will take place on the Spirit of Peoria on Saturday
for an early cruise with boarding at 10:30 am and cruise from 11 am - 12:30 pm
and the regular cruise time on Saturday & Sunday with boarding beginning at 1:30
pm and the cruise running from 2 - 3:30 pm. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for

Peoria
Historical Society's "Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour" which traces Peoria
history from 1920's to the present, will take place every Saturday in June

Boat Drunks will perform on the CEFCU Center Stage at The Landing on the

Heartland Festival Orchestra will present "Maestro's Favorites" at Five
Points Performing Arts Center (located at 360 N Wilmor Road in Washington)

The Drunken Zombie Deadly Double Feature - Vampire Women Gone Wild! will be

Stargazing
at Northmoor at the Northmoor Observatory (located on the Donovan Golf
Course at 5805 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria) will be open to the public for
stargazing from dusk until 11 pm on Saturday (If the skies are cloudless).
Volunteers will be on hand to aid you in viewing the night sky through the
telescope, locating planets and constellations, and discovering wonders of the

"A
Century of Beautiful Brides" Exhibit will be open from 1 - 4 pm at Peoria
Historical Society's John C. Flanagan House Museum (located at 942 NE Glen Oak
Ave. in Peoria). Featuring an exhibit of exquisite bridal fashions, finery, and
portraitures spanning 1870 - 1970 from private and Society collections plus a
complementary wedding reception, punch and sweets will be provided. Cost is $7
for adults and $3 for children or tour both of the Society's historic homes in
one day for a $10 per adult cost (see below). 
The
Peoria Historical Society's Pettengill-Morron House Museum (located at 1212 Moss
Avenue in Peoria) will host "Miss Morron's World Travels Exhibit"
celebrating the travels of Miss Jean Morron, also on Sunday from 1 - 4 pm. The
exhibit features her 1957 tour around the world cruise including New York City,
Boston, Paris, London and other European cities. Cost is $7 for adults and $3
for children or tour both of the Society's historic homes in one day for $10.

Perros Cubanos will host El Sabor Cubano on Sunday at the River Beach Pub

in the Park will take place on Sunday at Glen Oak Amphitheatre (located in
Glen Oak Park off Prospect Road in Peoria) from 3 - 9 pm. The official "kick off
to summer" includes entertainment from several Park District groups including
Barbershoppers from 3 - 4 pm, Park Players & Explosion Cheer Team from 4 - 5 pm,
the 50 Rock Readers Theater from 5 - 5:30 pm, Line Dancers from 5:30 - 6 pm and
