The Annual Chrysanthemum Show continues at Luthy Botanical Garden from 10 am - 5 pm today (Thursday) through Saturday and Noon - 5 pm on Sunday. This year's theme is "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and is full of hundreds of mums. The Gift Shop will have selected merchandise marked down. Hayrides and Hotdogs will take place at Sommer Park (located at 6329 N. Koerner Road in Edwards) tonight (Thursday) night from 5 - 7 pm. Enjoy hot dogs for roasting, chips, carrots, baked beans, marshmallows and drinks plus hayrack rides and mid 1800s Autumn Play Party activities (sack races, fortune telling) Costumes are strongly encouraged for both children and adults. Harvey continues (Thursday) at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield and runs through November 10th. Peoria Historical Society's Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour, which tells the story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained, will take place every Friday in October beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria). Wildlife Scary Park will take place from 5 - 9 pm Friday through Sunday at Wildlife Prairie Park. Featuring a new Trick-or-Treat Trail, haunted hayrack rides and free animal encounters, the "not-so-scary" version will run from 5 - 7 pm and the "frightfully fun" version will run from 7 - 9 pm. The Peoria Riverfront Museum will host a Halloween Hunt on Sunday from Noon - 5 pm where kids aged 3 - 12 can participate in a one-of-a-kind scavenger, view the Incredible Bats program with live bats from 3 - 5 pm, the Fright Light Planetarium Show and Hotel Transylvania or Monster House on the Giant Screen Theater. Admission is $10 for children (aged 12 & under) who are members, and $15 for non-members plus adults will receive one free adult admission with every paid child. Additional adults are $5 each.
