Illinois State Fair opens today (Thursday) and runs until Midnight through
Sunday, August 18. Admission is $7 for adults (ages 13 - 59), $3 for children
(ages 5-12), free for children under 5), and $3 for senior citizens (ages 60 and

Center for Prevention of Abuse will host the Silver Summer Soiree at the

Historical Society's Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour tells the
story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp
Lyon where they trained and will take place every Friday in August beginning at

downtown Peoria). The Haunted Peoria Tour explores the darker side of
Peoria and takes you to places where strange sightings and legendary deaths have

Sightseeing Cruise will take place on Friday, Saturday & Sunday on the
Spirit of Peoria with boarding beginning at 1:30 pm and the cruise running from
2 - 3:30 pm, plus an early cruise on Saturday with boarding at 10:30 am and
cruising from 11 am - 12:30 pm. A Moonlight Cruise will take

The 6th Annual Washington Fine Arts Festival will be held at Washington Park

Grand Nationals Weekend on the RiverFront Festival Park on Saturday

The 2nd Annual Wine Walk Fundraiser will be held on Saturday from 1 - 6 pm
hosted by Junction City and the Peoria Art Guild to raise money for art
awareness, art related events, and art education within the Peoria area. The

at Northmoor at the Northmoor Observatory (located on the Donovan Golf

Motorcycle Club (PMC) will host the Budweiser / AMA Pro Grand National
Championship TT Races, the Longest Consecutive Running Dirt Track Race in

With The Dogs, a benefit fundraiser for Paws Giving Independence, will take
place on Sunday at Junction City with pre-registration at 8:30 am and the race
beginning at 10 am. Race fee is $20 per person and helps to train dogs to be
service animals. Up-to-date rabies tags or vaccination records are required.
There will also be a Post-Race Luau Party from 11 am - 2 pm featuring live
music, food, refreshments, raffles, activities and contests for dogs. . Cost for

Italian-American Society of Peoria will host its 84th annual Summer Festa
picnic on Sunday from noon - 7 pm at Hickory Grove Park, (located off Illinois
Route 40 north of Peoria). A fund-raiser for the society's scholarship programs,
