The Elmwood Fall Festival will take place beginning at 5 pm tonight (Thursday) and run through Saturday evening in downtown Elmwood. Featuring a carnival, the Elmwood FFA Steer Show, Bingo, a pancake breakfast, a lip sync contest, a parade and a 5K Run/Walk/Kiddie Run on Saturday plus live entertainment throughout the festival plus food and much more.  For full details, visit http://www.elmwoodil.org

Greater Tuna continues tonight (Thursday) at the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield and runs through September 29. Whisper & Shout at the Contemporary Art Center will take place tonight (Thursday) beginning at 7:30 pm and is an open mic for sharing and inspiring poetry. Admission is $4 for members or $7 for non-members.
The Contemporary Art Center will feature Ambient on Friday beginning at 5:30 pm. Admission is $7 for members, $10 for non-members, $6 for student & senior members and $9 for student & senior non-members.
Salsa at the Contemporary Art Center will feature a dance lesson from 8:30 - 9:30 pm and open dancing to DJ Matt Vasquez from 9:30 pm - 12:30 am also on Friday. A cash bar will be available. The Central Illinois Herpetological Society will meet at Forest Park Nature Center tonight (Thursday) at 7 pm featuring a speaker, raffles, announcements of trips and exhibits and opportunities for hobbyists to interact with one another. Admission is free. Membership to the CIHS is $20 per year which includes the quarterly newsletter, Herp Alert. The Society meets the first Thursday every month at this time at Forest Park Nature Center.

Peoria Historical Society's Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour, which traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present, will take place every every Friday in September beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria).  The Haunted Peoria Tour explores the darker side of Peoria and takes you to places where strange sightings and legendary deaths have been reported and will take place every every Saturday through October beginning at 1 pm leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria). And their River City Tour will take place every every Saturday in September beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights). Cost for each tour is $12 (including a $1 tip for the driver) and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase. The Hayloft Shops (located on Route 29 in Mossville) will host their 31st Annual Art Fair & Fall Festival from 10 am - 5 pm on Friday, from 9 am - 4 pm on Saturday and from 11 am - 4 pm on Sunday.
