The 2014 Tremont Turkey Festival will take place through Sunday in downtown Tremont. Hours are 9 am - 10 pm on Thursday, 11 am - 10 pm on Friday, 6:30 am - 10 pm on Saturday and 9 am - 5 pm on Sunday. The event features the Miss Tremont Pageant on Thursday night, a pancake & sausage breakfast, a 5k race, horseshoe tournament, an antique tractor pull and live music by Heartache Tonight on Saturday, a community church service, car show and parade on Sunday plus a carnival, live entertainment, food featuring (of course) turkey throughout the festival. The Peoria Bach Festival celebrates its 12th year in 2014 with performances through Sunday celebrating the renowned composer. All performances will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (located at 135 NE Randolph Ave. in downtown Peoria). Whisper & Shout will take place at the Contemporary Art Center tonight (Thursday) with doors opening at 7:30 pm, and the show begining at 8 pm. An open mic for sharing and inspiring poetry, admission is $4 for members or $7 for non-members.  Live at the Five Spot at the Contemporary Art Center will feature Spring Creek Station beginning on Friday at 5:30 pm. Holy Family Heritage Days will be held in the Holy Family Parking lot (located at the corners of Sterling Ave. and Gale Ave. in Peoria) from 4 - 10 pm tonight (Thursday) & Friday and from 11 am - 10 pm on Saturday. Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour will take place every Friday in June beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights). The Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour will run every Saturday in June beginning at 10:30 am and tells the story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained. This tour leaves from Kelleher's Irish Pub, (located at 619 SW Water Street near State St. in downtown Peoria)  And the Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes place every Saturday in June beginning at 1 pm leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and includes stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of Peoria's most notorious crime scene.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase.
