The 43rd annual Steamboat Days Festivalwill take place on the Peoria
Riverfront beginning tonight (Thursday)
beginning at 4:30 pm, Friday at 3 pm and
Saturday at 7 am. Featuring a carnival,
a NASCAR racing simulator, a craft show,
live music, food and a Bags Tournament,
admission is free on Thursday with
carnival wristbands good for unlimited
rides are $20 from 5 - 9 pm. Admission
on Friday & Saturday is free until 6 pm,
then it's $5 per person and kids under
12 are free with a paid adult. For a

A Pasta Party for St. Jude will
take place tonight (Thursday) from 5 -
7:30 pm at Barrack's Cater Inn (located
at 1224 W Pioneer Pkwy. in Peoria).
There will be pasta, pizza, door prizes,
a silent auction and a live jazz band.
Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. 
The Velocity Summer Paint Party will
take place tonight (Thursday) at the
Peoria Civic Center from 8 - 11:30 pm.
General admission is $20 at the door or
$15 with a VIP Card in advance which is

The Peoria Chiefs will take on Kane
County tonight (Thursday) and Friday
beginning at 7 pm, Saturday at 6:30 pm
and Sunday at 2 pm at Dozer Stadium.
Individual tickets are $10 for club box
seating ($11 on Fireworks nights) and $7
for lawn seats and are available at the

Arts
in the Park will feature "New
Odyssey" at the new Idlewood Arts
Pavilion (located at the corners of
Idlewood & Parkside in Morton) tonight
(Thursday) beginning at 7 pm. Admission
is free. In case of rain or excessive
heat, the concert will be held at the
Morton Education and Administration
Center Auditorium (located at 1050 S.
Fourth Ave. in Morton). Bring a blanket

Historical Society's Grandview Drive
& Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour
will take place every Friday in June
beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp
& Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect
Road in Peoria Heights). The Abraham
Lincoln and The Civil War Tour will
run every Saturday in June beginning at
10:30 am and tells the story of
Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil
War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon
where they trained. This tour leaves
from Kelleher's Irish Pub, (located at
619 SW Water Street near State St. in
downtown Peoria) And the
Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes
place every Saturday in June beginning
at 1 pm leaving from Kelleher's Irish
Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in
downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria
history from 1920's to the present and
includes stories of the city's gangster
era, including driving by the site of
Peoria's most notorious crime scene.
Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65
and older ride the trolley free with
proof of age and a regular ticket

Ranger will perform at the Limelight
Eventplex (located at 8102 N. University

Moonlight Cruise on the Spirit of
Peoria on Friday featuring live

The2014 Steamboat Classic 4 mile, 15
Kilometer and 4 Kilometer Races will
take place on Saturday beginning at 7 am
on Hamilton Street (near Adams Street)

Toughest 15K" and "Peoria's Easiest 4K",
they are open and cater to runners and

A Dad's Day Family Festival will be
held at Northwoods Community Church
Peoria Campus (located at 10700 N Allen

A Lego Robotics Workshop will be
held at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on
Saturday from 1 - 4 pm. Members of the
FIRST Robotics Team 1736 will lead the
workshop geared towards beginners (ages
8-14) introducing participants to
building and programming robots using
Lego Mindstorm's NXT Robotics kits. A
fun, educational and interactive
experience where students will learn
about robots, programming and computer
skills, all materials will be provided.
While this workshop is designed for
beginning students, all skill levels are

Sommerfest
will take place from Noon to 8 pm on

on the Promenade will be held in the
