Peoria Historical Society's Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour winds along Grandview Drive takes place on Friday beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights).
The Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes place on Saturday beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and includes stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of Peoria's most notorious crime scene.  The "Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria also on Saturday beginning at 1 pm also leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase. The 36th Annual Zoo Run Run is a picturesque 5K run throughout the beautifully landscaped Zoo grounds and surrounding Glen Oak Park on Saturday beginning at 8:30 am for the 5K and 9:15 am for the Youth Run. Fees are $25 for Zoo members and $30 for non-members for the 5K and $12 for Zoo members or $15 for the Youth Run. The Pekin Diversity Festival will take place on Saturday from 1-3 pm in downtown Pekin at the Speakeasy Art Center and on Court Street between CJ's Restaurant and Capitol Street. Geared toward 3- to 12-year-old children, children will start at the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, where they will pick up a passport and at the end collect a prize if they visit all of the activities. Presenters will teach about cultural activities from Latin America, Scotland, Uganda, Germany, Japan, India, Arabic cultures, Thailand, Lebanon, Italy and Native American culture. Admission is free.
