The 4th Annual BBQ Throwdown Cooking Contest will be held in Downtown Morton beginning at 8 am on Friday and at 7 am on Saturday. Featuring over 40 contestants, there will also be plenty of BBQ items available for purchase. There will also be a "Backyard" contest for amateur grillers to be judged along with the professional contestants. Live music will be provided by Midnight Special, Rewind, Mister Sister and Jammsammich plus there will be crafters, a kid`s play area and vendors. Peoria Historical Society's Naughty to Nice Trolley Tour takes place every Saturday in July beginning at 10:30 am leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub (located at 619 SW Water Street in downtown Peoria) and traces Peoria history from 1920's to the present and includes stories of the city's gangster era, including driving by the site of Peoria's most notorious crime scene.  The "Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria running every Saturday in July beginning at 1 pm also leaving from Kelleher's Irish Pub.  Cost for each tour is $15 and seniors 65 and older ride the trolley free with proof of age and a regular ticket purchase.
