The Picture Our Faith Gallery Exhibit will be open in the Peoria Public Library Main Library Gallery (located at 107 NE Monroe in downtown Peoria) beginning on Saturday featuring works of St. Philomena students through January 29. The Skill Sprout Academy Science & Technology Open House (located at 8500 N. Knoxville Avenue in Peoria) will feature hands on exhibits of classes available at the school on Saturday from 10 am - 1 pm. Students can interact with equipment and tools used in the Junior Science, Junior FIRST Lego League Robotics, FIRST Lego League Robotics and FIRST Tech Challenge classes plus instructors will be on hand to answer questions. Eagle Day at Forest Park Nature Center (located at 5809 Forest Park Drive in Peoria Heights) will take place on Saturday beginning at 10 am. Admission is free. Each year hundreds of bald eagles over-winter in the Illinois River Valley and this day is an appreciation of these birds of prey as the Peoria Audubon Society and Forest Park Nature Center offer a presentation and tours to view Bald Eagles along the river. Action Painting will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Saturday beginning at 1 pm. Suitable for all ages, participants will roll, squeeze, splatter and spread paint like the pros to create their own Modernist masterpieces.
