The Lilies and the Lorax Lily Show will take place at Luthy Botanical Garden (located at 2520 North Prospect Road in Peoria) from 10 am - 5 pm through Sunday. Admission is $2.50 for adults aged 13 and up and free for children 12 and under and Garden members. The "Listen to the Lorax!" event will be held on Saturday where you and your kids can enjoy a reading of the Dr. Seuss classic The Lorax and create a truffula tree to take home beginning at 1 pm. Whisper & Shout at the Contemporary Art Center, an open mic for sharing and inspiring poetry, will take place tonight (Thursday) beginning at 8 pm. Admission is $4 for members or $8 for non-members.

The 31st Annual Nostalgic Indoor Invitational Auto Show and Swap Meet will take place on Saturday at the Avanti's Dome (located at 3401 Griffin Ave. in Pekin) beginning at 7 am. Awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for ages 12 and younger.
An Underwater Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the Aquaplex (located within the Riverplex in downtown Peoria) on Saturday beginning at 9 am and at 10 am.  Participants must pre-register and bring their own basket to gather eggs. Wildlife Prairie Park will host a Giant Easter Egg Hunt & Bunny Breakfast on Saturday with the Egg Hunts at 11 am and 1:30 pm and the Bunny Breakfast running from 8 - 11 am. A Zentangle Meditative Drawing Workshop will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Saturday from 1 - 3:30 pm. Zentangle combines the art of meditation with the beauty of free-form drawing. No previous artistic ability is needed to create these unique patterns, called "tangles". Once practiced, this technique can be used to decorate and accentuate a variety of things, all while fostering a clear, focused, and relaxed mind. The Peoria Jaycees will host Peoria's largest Easter Egg Hunt at Detweiller Park near the Dogwood Pavilion on Saturday with festivities beginning at 1:30 pm and the hunt beginning at 2 pm. The event is open to families and children ages through 9. There will be 15,000 eggs stuffed with candy by the Easter Bunny and the Girl Scouts spread through 4 areas at the park with each areas corresponding to a specific age group: 0-2, 3-4, 5-7, 8-9. The Peoria Chiefs will host an Opening Night Watch Party on the largest outdoor HD screen in Central Illinois at Dozer Park as the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs open the 2015 regular season at Wrigley Field on Sunday beginning at 5:30 pm. The event will also double as a "Meet the Chiefs" event with the 2015 Chiefs players on hand to sign autographs before the game begins. Admission to Dozer Park is free and there is an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet available for $13 if ordered online at www.peoriachiefs.com before Sunday and $15 if purchased on the day of the event or at the door.  There will also be a cash bar for soda, beer and cocktails. The newly arrived 2015 Chiefs players will be signing autographs before the game plus fans can also get behind-the-scenes tours of Dozer Park, including the Clubhouse. During the event, fans can sit outside on the party decks or enjoy one of the luxury suites or the Converse Club with multiple TVs. The buffet will consist of hot dogs, hamburgers, cole slaw, potato salad and chips with salsa. Door prizes will also be given away including 2015 Chiefs tickets and memorabilia.
