The 34th Annual Congressional Art Show will take place in the Peoria Public Library Main Library Gallery during normal library hours through April 24th.  Entries from high school students from the 18th Congressional District will be exhibited. The work on display will represent a variety of mediums. The winning entry will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.For more information, visit www.peoriapubliclibrary.org
Tiptoe Through the Tombstones will be presented by the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre in Goodfield through April 19. The Peoria Chiefs open their season tonight (Thursday) against the Quad Cities beginning at 7 pm with another game on Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 6 pm at Dozer Stadium. A Gilbert and Sullivan Spoof of Victorian Manners will be presented at the Dingledine Music Center on the Bradley University campus on Friday beginning at 7:30 pm. A Bradley Community Chorus Concert will take place on Sunday beginning at 3 pm at the Dingledine Music Center on the Bradley University campus. Admission is $10 for aults and free for students. Composers represented in the concert include William Billings, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin and Moses Hogan. A Gallery Walk with Pixie Jacquin will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum in the Permanent Collection-Folk Art Gallery on Sunday beginning at 3 pm & 4 pm. Learn about Outsider art with Mary Lou "Pixie" Jacquin, the collector and an Outsider artist herself, for a unique gallery walk of her personal collection in the "Witness to the Vision" exhibit. The event is free to members and with regular paid admission, which is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors citizens 60+ or $9 for youth 3-17 plus Peoria county residents receive a 15% discount.
