The Peoria Area World Affairs Council
will present "Can the World Prevent Genocide?" tonight (Thursday) at the Illinois Valley Yacht Club (located at 5102 N Galena Rd. in Peoria Heights) with Keith Porter, president and CEO of the Stanley Foundation of Muscatine, Iowa. The Peoria Chiefs will

The Flying Fish Festival and Bow
Fishing Tournament kicks off on Friday on the Peoria Riverfront with an international conference featuring experts on Asian carp from 8 am - 5 pm at the Gateway Building. Peoria Historical Society's
Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour winds along Grandview Drive and takes place every Friday in August beginning at 11 am leaving from Harp & Thistle (located at 4605 N Prospect Road in Peoria Heights). The "Abraham Lincoln & the Civil War Tour" tells the story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained. You'll visit Springdale Cemetery and see the
final resting place of Civil War veterans. Running on Saturdays in August beginning at 11 am, the tour leaves from Kelleher's Irish Pub, (located at 619 SW Water Street near State St. in downtown Peoria). And the "Roll Out the Barrel Tour" takes you through the earliest sections of downtown Peoria and into the Warehouse District where you'll discover facts about distilling in Peoria running Saturdays in August beginning at 1:30 pm also leaving from
