Historical Society's Grandview Drive
& Springdale Cemetery Trolley Tour
winds along Grandview Drive and takes
place every Friday in August beginning
at 11 am leaving from Harp & Thistle
(located at 4605 N Prospect Road in
Peoria Heights). The
"Abraham Lincoln & the Civil War
Tour" tells the story of
Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil
War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon
where they trained. You'll visit
Springdale Cemetery and see the final
resting place of Civil War veterans.
Running on Saturdays in August beginning
at 11 am, the tour leaves from
Kelleher's Irish Pub, (located at 619 SW
Water Street near State St. in downtown
Peoria). And the "Roll Out the
Barrel Tour" takes you through the
earliest sections of downtown Peoria and
into the Warehouse District where you'll
discover facts about distilling in

Dinosaur
Family Night will take place at the
Peoria Riverfront Museum on Friday from
5 - 8 pm. Featuring a tour of the
Dinosaurs in Motion exhibition, a
maker's space where you can try your
hand at creating artistic sculptures and
move-able models of your favorite
dinosaurs, a fossil station where you'll
learn how fossils form and make one of
your own to keep. At the end of
the night, you'll immerse yourself in
the prehistoric world of dinosaurs with
"Prehistoric Planet 3D" in the Giant
Screen Theater. A snack bar,
photo-booth, and scavenger hunt will

at the Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria

9th Annual Morton Strongman Contest
'Muscle on Main' will be held on Main
Street in downtown Morton on Saturday
from 10:30 am - 3 pm. The public is
invited to view amazing feats of
strength by dedicated athletes. There

27th Annual Duck Race benefiting
The Center for Prevention of Abuse will
kick off at Noon on Saturday with the
race beginning at 2 pm at the Eastside
Centre in East Peoria. A fundraiser for
the organization, cost to adopt a duck
is $5. Winning ducks are selected at
random when the thirty-thousand ducks
will race down a slip-n-slide along the
street entrance. Prizes include a $5,000
cash grand prize plus gift cards to
popular retail stores and restaurants.

Mulligans for Miracles Golf Outing
