The Spirit of Peoria Holiday Lunch Show Cruise featuring Brian "Fox" Ellis and Barry Cloyd of Prairie Folklore Theater will take place on Saturday as well as next Wednesday & Thursday with boarding beginning at Noon and cruise from 12:30 - 2:30 pm at the dock at the foot of Main Street in Peoria. Folepi's Winter Wonderland opens on Thursday night and will run through New Year's Eve at the VFW Post 2078 Park off Springfield Road (located at 123 Par 3 Lane in East Peoria). The drive-through electric park is the Festival of Lights' signature event featuring the majority of the Parade of Lights floats and many other lighted displays. The 128th Annual Santa Claus Parade will take place in Downtown Peoria on Friday beginning at 10:15 am. Featuring costumed characters, novelty walking units, horse units and decorated floats, the Grand Marshall of this year’s parade is a tribute to the live arts in Peoria with Community Children’s Theater and Corn Stock for Kids representing the theater community. The parade will also pay tribute to Tom McIntyre, who retired in May from WEEK-TV after 47 years reporting the news in central Illinois.
