The 2016 March Madness IHSA
Boys Basketball Tournament will begin with the Class 1A Semifinal Session on Friday in the Peoria Civic Center Arena at 12:15 pm and 2 pm and the Class 2A Semifinal Session will begin at 6:30 pm and at 8:15 pm. The 8th Annual Frolic with
the Fairies Tea and Style Show will take place on Friday at the Par-A-Dice Hotel Ballroom beginning at 6:30 pm featuring a party atmosphere for the more mature fairies including a dinner and a dance party for fairies ages 6 and over. Old-Fashioned Barn Dance at the Shore Acres Clubhouse (located at 100 Park Blvd. in Chillicothe) on Friday beginning at 7 pm. Music will be provided by the string band Too Old to be Controlled and Callers Jim Hicks and Gail Hintze teach all the dances, so beginners are welcome. Come fifteen minutes early for an introduction to barn dance basics. Admission is on a sliding scale of $5 - $10 (give the amount that works for you), with a family maximum of $20. The 16th Annual Farmers
Share of the Food Dollar Breakfast sponsored by the Peoria County Farm Bureau will be held on Saturday from 7 - 11 am at the Youth Building at Exposition Gardens in Peoria. The breakfast is an effort to help educate the public on the safe and affordable crops that American farmers produce. The price of this year's breakfast is 80 cents and the menu includes two pancakes, two 2-ounce whole hog sausage patties, two scrambled eggs, an 8-ounce glass of Prairie Farms milk and an 8-ounce

The Blarney Blitz
5K, Central Illinois' St. Patrick's Day themed race, will take place on Saturday along Peoria's riverfront with the start and finish outside of Kelleher's Irish Pub on SW Water St. near the corner of Walnut and Water Streets beginning at 8 am.
