The March Madness Experience will be held in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Hall from 6 pm - 9 pm tonight (Thursday), 10 am - 9 pm on Friday and 10 am - 6:30 pm on Saturday. Tickets are $2 at the door or get free admission with an IHSA game ticket stub.

The Central Illinois Regional (CIR) FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), an intense three-day event showcasing robots developed and operated by 40 teams of high school students, will take place at the Bradley Renaissance Coliseum through 6:30 pm tonight (Thursday) and from 9 am - 6 pm on Friday and Saturday. The competing robots are the result of 6-1/2 weeks of high school students and professional engineering/science mentors teaming up to solve the engineering challenges presented in this year's game, First Stronghold. The 2016 March Madness IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament will begin with the Class 3A Semifinal Session on Friday in the Peoria Civic Center Arena at 12:15 pm and 2 pm and the Class 4A Semifinal Session will begin at 6:30 pm and at 8:15 pm. The Annual Mennonite Relief Sale will take place at the Interstate Center Bloomington on Friday beginning at 4:30 pm and on Saturday beginning at 6 am. The Peoria Riverfront Museum will host the Interplanetary 5K Race/1 Mile Fitness Walk on Saturday with registration beginning at 7:30 am, the 5K race beginning at 9 am, the 1 Mile Fitness Walk beginning at 9:05 am and the Kids' Fun Run beginning at 9:30 am. The event takes runners and walkers of all ages through the Central Illinois Community Solar System, the world's most complete large scale model of the solar system.  Participants will follow the routes of interplanetary explorers through the Solar System from the Sun, past Mercury, Venus, and Earth, to Mars and back along the Riverfront Trail.
