Swing Into Spring featuring the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and the Central Illinois Jazz Orchestra will take place at the Performing Arts Center at Five Points Washington on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and at 3 pm on Sunday. Enjoy "happy music" performed by two of Central Illinois' premier ensembles performing Big Band swing era songs. The 31st Annual Komen Memorial Race for the Cure will take place at the Peoria Metro Centre (located at 4700 N University in Peoria) on Saturday with registration beginning at 7 am and the Race walk/run beginning at 8 am. Registration fee is $35 for the adult walk/run, $38 for adult competitive runners, $25 for the kids walk/run and $28 for the kids competitive runners. On Race day, all prices will increase by  $5. The "It's A Girl Thing" Vendor Fair and Wine Tasting will take place tonight (Thursday) at the Kickapoo Creek Winery (located at 6605 N Smith Rd. in Edwards) from 5 - 8 pm. Hosted by the Peoria Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors, tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The 2016 Gerald M. Brookhart Arts In Education Spring Celebration will be held every weekday through May 27 at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza from 11 am - 1:30 pm each day.
