Rent continues at Peoria Players Theatre beginning at 7:30 pm tonight (Thursday), Friday and Saturday and at 2 pm on Sunday. The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning production is a rock musical based loosely on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème.  Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. The Tremont Turkey Festival will take place through Sunday in downtown Tremont. Hours are through 10 pm tonight (Thursday), 11 am - 10 pm on Friday, 6:30 am - 10 pm on Saturday and 9 am - 5 pm on Sunday. Featuring the Miss Tremont Pageant on Thursday night, a pancake & sausage breakfast, a 5k race, horseshoe tournament, an antique tractor pull, a craft show, a community church service, car show and parade on Sunday plus a carnival, live entertainment there will also be food including turkey and strawberry shortcake throughout the festival. Their "Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour" tells the story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained. Drive by the GAR Hall, built in 1909, and hear the story of Joseph Greenhut, one of the Whiskey Barons who provided funding for the Hall.
