"Exploring Human Origins:
What Does It Mean to Be Human?" from the Smithsonian Institution is on exhibit at the Peoria Public Library daily (except Sunday) from 9 am - 6 pm in the Gallery at the Main Library (located at the corner of Main and Monroe in downtown Peoria). Admission is free.

The Peoria Area World Affairs Council
(PAWAC) will present The Stories Behind the Images: Overseas Journalism Tales at the Lariat Steakhouse (located at 2232 W Glen Ave. in Peoria) tonight (Thursday) with dinner beginning at 5:15 pm and lecture at 7 pm. Featuring former public radio producer and current PAWAC Executive Director Kristin McHugh. The Day of
Enlightenment will take place at Wildlife Prairie Park on Friday from 10 am - 2 pm on the day prior to the opening of the Olde English Faire to provide educational opportunities for kids of all ages. See and feel what the Medieval era was like through an interactive educational experience like nothing you have seen before. Participants will be divided into 5 groups and spend time with each of the following activities: historical birds of prey, arms and armor, siege weapons, the life of

The Peoria Historical Society's
Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Tour winds along Grandview Drive taking place every Friday in June beginning at 11 am leaving from the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Their "Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour" tells the story of Lincoln's visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained. ARRL Ham Radio Field
Day will take place on Saturday at the Peoria Riverfront Museum beginning with set up beginning at 9 am, transmitting beginning at 1 pm continuing until 1 pm on Sunday. Admission is free. A Peoria State Hospital History
